The Big Picture:
The Bible’s Story from Creation to New Creation

Summer Sermon Series
Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
May 30 – August 15

Join us this summer as we present the big picture of scripture and a broad sweep of the narrative of God’s love story for all creation.  So often on Sunday mornings we get just a small piece of the story.  We want everyone to start to see how all of those small pieces fit together into a larger whole.  Of course we will not be able to hit all of the important stories in Scripture but we will hit some of the high points and see that the whole Bible, from start to finish, belongs to one story.

The series will flow as follows:

May 30 – Creation, Creator, and Us
June 6 – Falling Away
June 13 – People of the Promise
June 20 – Exodus and Wilderness Living
June 27 – Kings and Anointed Ones
July 4 – Prophetic Voices
July 11 – Living in the Second Wilderness - (Exile)
July 18 – Jesus’ Mission Statement
July 25 – Living Well - (Beatitudes)
August 1 – Crucifixion and Resurrection
August 8 – The Body of Christ after the body of Christ – (Pentecost)
August 15 – New Creation

In addition to us beginning to see the big picture of scripture we would also like us to understand how we fit into this big picture.  Each week in the sermon we will uncover how this story speaks to our lives.  Additionally, we would like to invite you to join with us in conversation about how the piece of God’s story for that week relates to our lives.   If there is enough interest a time for conversation will follow each of the summer worship services, as well as on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. and noon, and possibly other times such as Sunday evening or Wednesday evenings.    During this time we will discuss questions such as – How do I take what I have heard back into my life?  What does this Bible story have to do with me?  How does this story apply in my life and my community?  Please speak with one of the pastors if you are interested in leading one of these sessions.  Sign up on the blue sheets in worship if you are interested in participating in one of these sessions.  Join us throughout the summer to see the big picture unfold.
