Summer Youth Opportunities

We are offering four different trip options for our youth this summer in an attempt to give you the most flexibility in your schedule and interests!  This also allows us to expand our horizons through the excellence of shared experiences.

All Summer Trips will require a deposit and participation in our annual fundraisers.  Usually we are able to raise all the required funds for the summer trip cost through fundraisers.

Boundary Waters

July 26-August 2nd

Trinity Lutheran is planning a trip withZion to fly up to Wilderness Canoe Base is Minnesota.  Two years ago, wilderness canoe base suffered a loss of facilities due to a forest fire.  The trip will include 3 days of service and fun at the camp and 4 days of Canoeing in the pristine wilderness of the Boundary Waters.

There is space for 5 youth to go on a trip to boundary waters with an adult from Zion and the youth group of Trinity Fort Collins.  Contact Cody for more information.  We are planning on fly up on July 26th and flying home on August 2nd.

San Diego Daily Discipleship Immersion

July 6-13th (Roughly)
Join us as Our Savior's Lutheran and Zion travel to San Diego to immerse ourselves in a week of daily discipleship.  We will stay at a church and have a daily routine that will include service, worship, and fun.  We will be working with the group Interfaith Community Faith Centers, an ecumenical organization that organizes crisis support, breakfast and dinner community meals, veteran's services, employment services, emergency shelters, family housing, senior services, and more.  Their focus is on helping people help themselves.  Our service projects will be tailored on building relationships with people in the community over the entire week and raising our awareness of people in need.

There will also be three days for fun in the sun around San Diego's many excellent tourist locations.

Youth Go!

June 8-21st
YouthGO! is a young adult leadership development program. You'll be "on the go" for two weeks as you participate in the mission community of Harvest Farm, learn outdoor skills on a backpack adventure through Comanche Peak Wilderness and fine tune your community leadership skills at Sky Ranch. Following this two week program, you can return later in the summer as a "Staff in Training" and receive a stipend for your time (you can actually earn back the cost of the program). As a "Staff in Training" member you can assist a counselor with camp programs or serve in a Ranch Hand capacity. You'll fine YouthGO! to be one of the most awesome group development programs you've ever experienced. Space is limited.
